Dra. Marta Serra-Serrat is the only Spanish orthodontist who has passed The Royal’s examination College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which accredits her to practise orthodontics in countries as Australia, England, Indonesia, New Zealand, Hong Kong or Canada.
She is graduated in Odontolgy at the Universitat of Barcelona in 1995. In 1996 achieve Odontopediatría’s Certificate from the Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Déu (Barcelona).
She lived and studied in the United States for three years with a scholarship of the Fundació “La Caixa “. There it obtains the Master of Oral Science in Sciences and Certify in Your Orthodontics, for the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In 1999 she won the Prize to the Best Investigation, granted by the American Association for Dental Research. In 1999 she won the prize to the best investigation granted by Sigma XI The Scientific Research Society.
In 2000 she won the Simó Virgili Prize for his work entitled “Orthodontic Management of Hypodontia. Delayed Eruption and Mandibular Skeletal Asymmetry “(1999), awarded by the Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques de Catalunya i Balears. From 2000 to 2008, she was professor of the Master of Orthodontics at the International University of Catalonia.
From 2005 to 2013 she actively participates in the modular course for postgraduate courses in the Catalan Society of Odontology and Stamatology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands.
In 2008 she passed the exam that accredits her as a qualified member of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), one of the most rigorous and demanding orthodontic exams in the United States.
She is also co-author of “Aesthetic fixed prosthesis. A clinical and interdisciplinary approach “Chapter 4. Interdisciplinary orthodontics. Editorial Elsevier, 2007. And author of multiple scientific articles and regular lecturer in courses and conferences.
She currently head of Smileline, orthodontic clinic in Plaça Adrià 6, Barcelona (tel 93 200 20 92). Throughout her professional career,she has participated in multiple courses and conferences related to invisible orthodontics, orthognathic surgery and interdisciplinary orthodontics.
Dra. Beatriz de Damborenea ORTHODONTIST
She graduated in Dentistry from the International University of Catalonia in 2016. He completed the Clinical Residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2017. She graduated from the Master’s Degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2020 at the International University of Catalonia. She certified in Invisalign 2020.
Dra. Cristina Pascual ORTHODONTIST
She graduated in dentistry from the International University of Catalonia in 2017. She completed the Clinical Residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2017-2018 and graduated from the Master’s in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2021.
Paloma Ferrera DENTAL HYGIENIST
Paloma has been working in the orthodontic clinic with Dr. Marta Serra Serrat since 2019. She is responsible for multiple clinical tasks to help the doctor in the treatment of child and adolescent patients. She plays a fundamental role in the area of children’s orthopedics. She helps in the organization and maintenance of the photography, video and media area. She instructs patients from the first visit to maintain proper dental hygiene and gum health throughout the entire treatment.
Marcia Díaz Gallardo RECEPTION COORDINATOR
Marcia has been working in the orthodontic clinic with Dr. Marta Serra Serrat since 2021. She is part of the reception and treatment coordination team and the “recall” system for patients pending treatment start. She plays a key role in organizing and maintaining the photography, video and media area. She is responsible for internal communication for the maintenance of our computer programs, preparation of digital files and reports for treatment planning. She instructs patients from the first visit to maintain proper dental hygiene and gum health throughout the entire treatment.
Lilian Gomez DENTAL HYGIENIST
Lilian has been working in the orthodontic clinic with Dr. Serra Serrat since 2020. In 2019 she obtained the degree of Higher Technician in Oral Hygiene.
She is responsible for multiple clinical tasks assisting the doctor in the treatment of adult patients and especially in Spark orthodontics and children’s orthopedics. She plays an important role in the external relationship with suppliers in the ordering of clinical materials. She is responsible for the stock of all the clinic’s products. She has completed several orthodontic courses nationwide.
